Scheduled to bat eighth and start in left field for the Red Sox for Saturday, Jeremy Hermida was instead designated for assignment. Highly touted outfield prospect Ryan Kalish was summoned from Triple-A Pawtucket and arrived roughly a half-hour before the first pitch.
